Cécilia Lyon 

Belgian born Cécilia Lyon is a graduate of the University of Brussels. She is currently a writer, publisher and art curator.  Cécilia Lyon’s background is very international.She has lived in several places in Europe, one of them being Paris.  When moving to Manchester, she discovered the paintings of Adolphe Valette in the Manchester Art Gallery, and developed a passion for his work. Cécilia Lyon published a biography on the artist in 2006, which was followed by a sister publication on Valette in French in 2010. She has curated exhibitions on Adolphe Valette in England and France.  It is while she was curating her blockbusting exhibition of 2011-12 at The Lowry in Salford, Adolphe Valette, a Pioneer of Impressionism in Manchester, that the idea of writing an in-depth study of the artistic relationship between Valette and Lowry crystallised.  She is now thrilled to be able to share her findings with a wider public.
